What's going on?
Tarot is an old and mysterious thing; there is a lot we don't really know.
While the exact origins of the Tarot are unknown, and there are many different interpretations of the cards, they've been used for divination and providing guidance since at least the 1400s.
Cape Town has a thriving Tarot scene. You'll find events, private readers, community meetups and more all over the city. Why? Because in this age of upheaval, guidance and insight are truly valuable.

Come with your enquiry. You don't need to say it out loud; as long as you know what you're asking about. It can be a direct question or just an area of your life you're looking for guidance on.
Book Your Reading
Find me at an event by following me on Instagram, or book a private reading at a location of your choice. Choose your reading duration based on the complexity and depth of your question.
Consult the Cards
The number of cards and duration of your reading depends on the amount of insight you're seeking to gain. The more in-depth your enquiry, the more cards may be needed for the reading.
Do I need to 'believe'?
The Tarot is not here to cause harm, play games or cast curses. It's a tool: a system of symbols mapping out the soul's journey through existence, with recognisable markers to guide the way. We all intuitively understand these symbols, and our collective experiences in life often revolve around familiar themes.
The Tarot never asks for "belief" in it. Nor does astrology, nor reiki, nor any other tool of engaging with symbols and themes that we already embody. Whether you 'believe in it' or not, the cards remain just a set of 78 cards bearing symbols.
That being said, sitting for a reading can be an intense experience - the symbols in the cards speak to parts of ourselves that are sometimes deeply rooted and rarely see the light. When sitting for a reading, expect to dive into a very honest conversation with your reader!
Who's the Reader?
I'm Adrian.
I've been reading Tarot cards since 2018, when I was given my first deck - which I still use for readings today. Since then, after doing readings only for friends and family, it grew into a passion. It became apparent from the early readings that the cards truly do speak in remarkably insightful ways.
I am a proud student of Carla le Roux - also known as the Modern Muse - who is one of Cape Town's foremost Tarot readers. I completed Carla's training to formalise my practice and dive deeper into the cards' meanings; the challenge is that the more I learn, the more there is to learn!
